YouLead National Symposiums & In-country youth meet ups

National Youth Symposiums
Through a successful call for expressions of interest, organisations offering to voluntarily host in country events have been selected. Acceptable events are those likely to result in national level impact, involving as many youth representatives and networks as possible. There is no restrictions on the number of youth that can participate in the events. Virtual (social media and technology based) and physical engagements are encouraged all through the process. To the fullest extent possible, all themes and topics addressed are tailored, but not limited to those of the regional summit, with a national outlook to address national level issues. To the fullest extent, organisers are encouraged to involve youth members of parliament, national youth councils, government ministries responsible for youth and East African affairs, and reach out to as many youth led and youth serving organisations as possible.
Why the National Youth Symposiums?
Due to space and financial constraints, only a limited, competitively selected number of delegates (200) have a chance to participate in the regional summit The National Youth Symposiums are therefore aimed at giving the opportunity and voice to the maximum possible number of youth at country level to voice out concerns and issues, most of which have national regional level implications and hence can be addressed by EAC at regional level. The outcome of the of the in-country events is a Country-by-Country National “Youth Trends Report”. The proceedings and report from the National Youth Symposiums will form an integral part the regional summit agenda.
In-country youth meet ups
These are continuous spontaneous, exciting youth community events— ranging from house parties, video screenings, public lectures to whatever else youth love to do together that leads them to share experiences and clarify their aspirations.
